April Lilacs is a LiveGood Candles limited edition candle that comes back once a year in the month of April. It was made in memory of our owner Alycia's mother April who suffered with Chronic Kidney Disease for years before her passing in 2013.
April’s favorite flower was purple lilacs. One of Alycia's core memories as a child was when she would walk home from elementary school and pick her mom a big bouquet of lilacs from someone's yard and surprise her mom with them when she got home.
April was such a kind and caring woman, and a big giver. Another of Alycia's memories as a child and throughout her teenager years before her moms passing, was when her, her mom, and her siblings would go grocery shopping and April would always donate to whatever fundraiser was going on for whatever charity at the time. Even if it was the last dollar to her name... Which it usually was. She never said no. She always gave that dollar.
Since April's passing, Alycia has wanted to honor her mom and give back in some way... and that's how April Lilacs was born!
100% of net proceeds from April Lilacs are donated to The National Kidney Foundation on Mother's Day in memory of April. Since the creation of April Lilacs in 2021, we as a small family owned company have been able to donate over $800 to The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii.
Every year we change the look of April Lilacs to make it a true limited edition candle and to create excitement and bring awareness to Chronic Kidney Disease and The National Kidney Foundation.
We hope that with your support, and with our donation we can bring awareness and make a difference in the lives of those that are still battling with Kidney Disease today.
